Definition

The href Attribute specifies an URL that the element can use.

For instance:

  • <a> and <area> elements - it specifies the URL of the page the link goes to.
  • <base> elements - it sets a base URL to be used for relative URLs on a page.
  • <link> elements - it specifies the URL of the external resource.
