HTML <Aside> Tag

Definition

The <aside> tag is used to hold indirectly-related but separate content to the document’s main content. They are commonly used for sidebars, author information, pull-quotes, and call-out boxes.

Usage

• The <aside> tag contains content that is ancillary to the content it is placed within. Examples include:
  • Comments
  • Pull Quotes
  • Sidebars
  • Additional information
  • Bibliography or endnotes
  • Groups of sidebar <nav> elements Do not use the <aside> element for parentheticals, as they are part of the document’s main flow.

Attributes

The <aside> element only supports the Global Attributes.
